What shelter can i go to that my age doesn't matter?

I am ten and I am top of my class plus, I love animals
but i think the vet and local animal shelters won't take me in to do volenteer work because of my age......

I know how you feel...I'm 14 and nowhere will take me to do volunteer work until I'm 16. If anyone knows where might take under 16'd it would be very helpful...
